COVID-19 Photography Information

This information will help you with the challenges of navigating your photography needs, as well as wedding plans through the COVID-19 pandemic. I will do my part to provide protection to both my clients and my crew at the highest possible level. This information will be updated regularly and our policies may change based on CDC recommendations, Minnesota and Minneapolis laws and the ever evolving pandemic situation. And, as always, I’m constantly brainstorming to come up with better solutions that are safe yet flexible, keep you and your guests happy, and allow for amazing photography to still happen.

Photography Procedures During the COVID-19 Pandemic

These procedures and guidelines will be in place for all photography with everybody’s safety in mind. However, since each wedding and situation is unique, if you are concerned, please let me know, we will work together to customize your safety plan based on your situation.

  • Social Distancing:  Social distancing guidelines will be followed by us by keeping at least 6 feet between us and people we photograph.  Longer lens will be used, which will alter the look and feel of the shots but will keep us safe.

  • Posing:  Photography sessions will be no-contact posing, which means I will guide you from a safe distance on how to pose.

  • Location: Sessions, including couples sessions, will be held outdoors.

  • PPE and Hygiene:  We will wear masks at all times if not eating or drinking. Hand sanitizers will be used often. We will use best hand washing practices as recommended by the CDC.

  • Health Check: For any photo shoots, if I or anyone being photographed is feeling sick or running a fever within 72 hours of the shoot, we will reschedule.

  • Timing of Shoots:  Extra time will be allotted to group shots to allow for social distancing

  • Group Photos Procedures, based on 09/18/2020 Sate of MN guidelines

    • group photos will be taken outside, if at all possible

    • all people waiting to be next, will be a kept minimum 10 feet away from the set

    • longer lens will be used changing the look to more commercial

    • limits on large groups based on your situation, but 10 people max recommended

    • we will allot extra time for group shots so that social distancing can be followed

    • if inside, people should wear masks as they get into position and keep the mask on until we provide a command to remove masks and take the picture; time without masks should be very brief and people should replace their masks as soon as photos are done

    • we ask that you identify high risk family members and communicate these guidelines and the final group shots list with anyone who will be participating for their approval, to make sure everybody feels comfortable with the groupings they are to be a part of

  • Coverage Restrictions: As of 10/05/2020 everyone must wear a face covering while dancing at a wedding and/or event. DJ/Dance floor partying will be covered only if masks are worn by those on the dance floor. Longer lens will be used which may alter the look of the images but will still allow for documenting those special moments!

  • Consultation: While I LOVE in-person meetings, sipping wine and planning your big day at my studio, I do see a huge demand from my couples for virtual meetings. While masks are required at the studio, the upside of an online meeting is that we will see each other’s faces!
